HIP REPLACEMENT

HIP REPLACEMENT

Hip replacement is performed for patients who suffer from hip arthritis who do not get adequate relief with other forms of treatment.  A hip replacement removes the ends of the joint that have lost cartilage and replaces this with metal implants.  This procedure is highly successful and allow patients to have a better quality of life and function.  New technology has allowed most of these procedures to be performed with robotic assistance.  This technology allows for better planning of the procedure, improved placement of components, and potentially less pain and longer lifespan of the implant.
